New Toys…
I finally got around to picking up a new Audio Interface as my last ones were too old and no longer really supported by Windows.
This should hopefully allow me to progress some of my Music Projects and get some recordings going.
I just need to once again reacquaint myself with Ableton Live.
I spent a bit of time comparing the different options, and it came down to the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 and the Universal Audio Volt 4.
Hopefully I can start getting some use out of it soon.
2025 Focuses
It’s 2025, so of course it is time to put some of that fleeting motivation into trying to create a game plan for the foreseeable future.
Really, this is more of a guide of want I want to personally focus on this year. I don’t think the things on the list ever really change, but sometimes it is good to just get things written down somewhere for personal accountability.
I’ve named the approach to this year as Make/Do. The Idea is to not only Make and Do things, it is also to do it using what I already have.
I’ve grouped up my focuses into a few categories.
Consume
Create
Catalogue/Consolidate
Conserve
Below you can find a more detailed break down of all of these Focus Categories.
Consume - This Category basically consists of Making Use of what Media I already have. I own lots of Books, TV Shows, Movies and Video Games. Many of which I have never watched, played or read.
When you buy these types of Media (Books, DVDs, Blu-rays, Video Games) essentially what you are doing is pre-paying for an experience you wish to have at a later time. At some point however, you should probably cash in on that experience. So the focus for this year is to first of all Catalogue what I own, and what I haven’t watched, played or read.
Create - For years I have had ideas for various creative projects. Some I have finished, many I have not. This year I would like to focus on making time to work on my various projects. These projects include categories such as Art, Music, Writing and Design.
Last year I started a Habit of waking up an hour earlier in the mornings. This allowed me to start my mornings with a Coffee, watch a TV show and draw. Despite not being a fan of early mornings, It became something to look forward to. I would like to create more situations like this where I can focus on being creative.
Catalogue/Consolidate - This essentially falls into the idea of taking stock and knowing what you have. It is the organizing of things that make them more manageable. This includes the previously mentioned Books, TV Shows, Movies and Video Games. It also includes things like Projects and Photos/Videos. After around 25 years of amassing digital files, it helps to know where to find what you are looking for. This also includes cleaning up email inboxes. I have a feeling I will be clicking my fair share of the “Unsubscribe button” this year.
Conserve - This one is more straight to the point. By hopefully using more of what I already own or have access to, this should hopefully mean i am spending less money. Last year was an expensive year for me, so it is time to try and rebuild some reserves.
I’m sure I could go into all of these Categories in more detail, especially because each category has their own sub-categories…but I guess that’s what future updates are for. Right now I have set some achievable goals…time to start.
It’s been a while…
While I would have liked to think I would have updated this “blog” a bit more often, i’m not really surprised I haven’t.
In the last 6 or so months since my last entry, I have added “Content” to the site.

I did recently get a 3D printer however, and I have been learning the basics of 3D Modelling. so that is something.
The plan is to rework my storage solutions, so I started with a basic 3D Model of a battery storage case.
Honestly it came out a lot better than I expected in quite a short amount of time spent modelling.
I hope to be able to keep designing and getting more and more intricate.
A Place for Everything
There is nothing more satisfying than having a neat and tidy work/living space. Everything you need is quickly in reach when you need it.
This also applies digitally, with everything organized into easy to follow layouts.

While i’m not going to get into said organization layout in this post. I’ll save that maybe for a digital declutter post.
What I did want to briefly write about was storage upgrades.
For years I would periodically add more digital storage by ways of buying new External Hard drives. This meant that after a number of years my files would be spread out over a bunch of different drives.
My Old Hard Drive Collection
As you can imagine this becomes highly impractical. Not only taking up physical space, but also keeping track of files across many drives.
I finally decided to invest in the largest drive I have ever owned. This way I can consolidate my data better and get rid of older drives that were probably on their way out.
The Replacement
After some looking at options, I decided on 12 TB. After merging all of the drives and getting rid of duplicate files, this so far is more then enough and should last me well into the future. I will be keeping some of the Older drives to use for things such as Backups.
Now that all the data is in one place, it’s just a matter of organizing it all to improve and increase workflow.
I’m sure this will take some time.

Beginnings
Everything starts somewhere. It might as well start with this basic first blog entry on a currently mostly empty website.
I’ve done a lot of these types of posts on various websites over the years, promising to keep it updated.

This is something that has generally always not been the case. I am a lot older now, but if anything that just means I have more responsibilities and less time. Maybe I have improved my time management, maybe not.
All I can say is that when I look at this website a few months or even years down the line. I hope that this was indeed a beginning for this site and not just an ending of another idea.
Due to the nature and design of this site, a lot of the work next is cataloging. Taking (literal in some cases) stock of goals and tasks that I want to complete. This also means that the layout of the page will probably also continue to be tweaked, as I experiment to find the best way to showcase the content I plan on adding.
But for now, this is indeed…something.
